The Banke hotel, the Parisian hotel of the group Derby Hotels Collection, participates for the first time to the “Journées du Patrimoine”, on the weekend of September 20, 2014. After receiving its 5th star at the beginning of September, the hotel has decided to open its doors to the public on the occasion of this important European event. The visit will be punctuated by the history of the place and the presentation of the art collection from the Clos’ Family, owners of the Banke.
It’s an honour for the hotel to participate at this kind of event. The hotel was warmly welcome to participate, its facade won several awards from the City Hall at the beginning of the 20th century. This antique diamond bank, with a Haussmann’ style, was renovated in 2009 by the Clos Family, owner of the group. The architecture has mostly been conserved, then decorated to make the place warmer, remembering the Spanish origins of the family. The rooms in the 6 floors has been renovated to become 92 spacious bedrooms and suits.
When you get into the hall, you recognize the past functions of the edifice: the desks are still here, to delimitate the Josefin restaurant and the Lolabar. The natural light bathes the entrance thanks to a glass roof at 19 meters high. Visitors will discover the secrets of the place and its history, during tours grouped on Saturday, September 20.
Les Journées du Patrimoine à l’hôtel Banke
L’Hôtel Banke, établissement parisien du groupe Derby Hotels Collection, participe pour la première année aux Journées du Patrimoine, le week-end du 20 septembre 2014. Récompensé d’une 5ème étoile par Atout France à la rentrée, l’hôtel a décidé, à cette occasion, d’ouvrir ses portes au public. Les visites porteront sur l’histoire du lieu et la présentation de la collection d’art de Jordi Clos, propriétaire du Banke.
C’est un honneur pour l’hôtel de participer à un tel événement. Cette ancienne banque diamantaire de style haussmannien a été rénovée en 2009 sous l’impulsion de la famille Clos, propriétaire de la chaine. L’architecture a été conservée dans son ensemble, puis décorée dans des tons chauds évoquant l’Espagne. Les pièces, réparties sur les 6 étages, ont été transformées en 92 chambres et suites luxueuses.
Lorsqu’on pénètre dans le hall, on reconnait les fonctions passées de l’édifice : les guichets ont été conservés afin de délimiter l’espace restaurant– le Josefin –et le Lolabar. L’entrée est baignée par la lumière naturelle provenant de la verrière, située à 19 mètres de haut. Les visiteurs découvriront les secrets et l’histoire des lieux au cours de visites guidées groupées, le samedi 20 septembre.
