Fashion is art and Paris its capital. Something no one can deny, the city proves it every day; you can sense it walking down the streets, enjoying the atmosphere or simply admiring the innate style of Parisians. That is why the Museum of Fashion of Paris is a must visit for lovers of style and the most genuine glamour, especially during the upcoming months since until the 16th of September the museum offers a unique exhibition on Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs. A perfect opportunity to enjoy the emblematic creations of one of the most exclusive brands in the world.

Two spectacular photographs of Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs welcome the visitors of the exhibition. On the first floor the visitor is immersed in the Vuitton universe exploring its vast career. From a 19th century lady’s wardrobe to the creation of the iconic brand’s logo. From the first travel baggage for couture clothing to the opening of the first boutique in 1854 … The second floor goes over the contribution of Marc Jacobs to the brand as its Artistic Director since 1997. His whole personality can be felt from the exhibits among which stand out his collaborations with artists like Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince. A surprise closes the visit, a peepshow that allows us to see through a peephole the fashion shows with the latest creations of Jacobs.

It would be a sin not to finish the visit taking a look at the museum’s permanent collection which shelters certain items normally outside exposure. For this occasion you will find an exhibition of selected pieces and delicate issues related to the exhibition of Louis Vuitton: a travel trunk from the Middle Ages, the use of exotic materials in art deco and travel in the 18th century.

This exhibit is one of the must-sees for the elegant Banke Hotel guests, just 15 minutes away through a leisurely stroll down the Avenue de l’ Opéra to reach the beautiful Palace Galliera that houses the museum. An imposing neo-Renaissance building of 1894 that apart from the Museum of Fashion, it also houses the Decorative Arts and the Advertising museums. From the Hotel itself it’s possible to purchase the entry tickets as well as through the museum’s website.
