The soprano, composer and conductor Pilar Jurado is one of the most outstanding figures of European classical music. She is considered the “muse of the contemporary creation”, thanks to her versatility she has performed on the most prestigious stages of the World, alongside top level orchestras and under the baton of important conductors, such as Giuseppe Sinopoli, Arturo Tamayo and Pedro Halffter, among others.

The first woman to debut an opera at the Teatro Real, receives today the International Women’s Forum Woman who makes a difference award. A distinction that highlights the leadership of women in the World, awarded in San Francisco. Congratulations Pilar!

On Wednesday 17^th of October we celebrate the Isleña Party at the Glass Bar from 20 p.m. with an original cocktail. The brand ambassador, Juana Boned, was with us sharing smiles and Isleñas with all the guests.

Isleña is the first made in Ibiza beer of the market. With a most suitable slogan, The Beer of Ibiza, the first thing that catches the attention is the bottle desing and what better defines it, is its processing. A beer made with much of the barley grown in the fields of Ibiza. The result: a light beer, but with lots of character and above all, thanks to its gorgeous aluminum container, very fresh!

This week is taking place the first edition of Madrid Exquisito, a gastronomic event that offers the opportunity to visit 25 venues representing the best of the Madrid cuisine for only 30 euros.

For this price, guests will enjoy a “luxury” menu and contribute to a good cause, as the chefs of these restaurants offer the same menu during the Almudena Day in different charity dining rooms.

Europa Decó restaurant (Urban Hotel) participates in this initiative with several interesting factors according to Paco Patón, Catering Director of the hotel “it’s an idea born from the venues themselfs, which has a very important social work nowadays and where we offer a luxurious menu at a fixed price, allowing locals to discover that luxury hotels are not expensive and offer a great quality-price rate.”

On July the 17th, Erykah Badu was in Madrid. Accompained by her multitudinous band, the American artist with over 20 years of career under her belt, appeared in Los Veranos de la Villa where she delivered a masterclass in soul, hip hop and jazz playing several songs from her repertoire.

The neosoul diva brought the audience to their feet and we had the pleasure of sharing in the moments prior to the concert at the Hotel Urban.

The photography studio FACTORY 311 has been commissioned to delight us with a heart-stopping cover of Jon Kortajarena . The Bilbao-born model poses as only he can at the Urban Hotel in Madrid for the cover of ELLE MAN Vietnam magazine. The top model boasts of a seductive look and attitude, stands out with an elegant dark suit with a white shirt, back tie and a colorful scarf, with a drawing of a feminine silhouette, placed on the lapel. What certainly mesmerizes us is the combination of his gaze, his stunning cheekbones and his trademark toupee, features that have positioned him as one of the most important international models of our country. With good reason, the biggest names in fashion are competing for Kortajarena. He is clearly not keeping still. Moreover, we celebrate his birthday! Do not miss the video.

Dior Addict Party at the Urban Hotel’s Sky

On June 19th, Dior chose the terrace of the Urban Hotel in Madrid to premiere their new Dior Addict fragrances campaign to the most influential fashion and beauty bloggers of Spain.

After a welcome with a delicious cocktail prepared by the Urban Hotel team , the the two new versions of the perfume were presented, Eau Fraîche and Eau Sensuelle, created by François Demachy, Dior’s perfumer. The new advertisement caused a sensation. A Jonas Akerlund spot starring the top Daphne Groenveld on the beaches of St. Tropez, where the model puts herself in a genuine lady’s shoes and seduces everyone in the finest Brigitte Bardot style.

The bloggers enjoyed the event, took pictures of themselves in a movie set especially recreated for the occasion and discovered first-hand Dior Addict Eau Fraîche and Dior Addict Eau Sensuelle, most addictive fragrances of summer.

Gummy’s Party

On May the 10th, the Hotel Urban’s Glass Bar organized a summer kick-off meeting with friends, surrounded by gummy bears from dEmo!

The Glass Bar is a surprising venue caused by the amusing stridency of its furniture and where this summer you will be able to enjoy great cocktails, oysters, champagne and snacks, while gazing at the funny work from dEmo.

Gummy bears from this multidisciplinary artist are his most representative works. A total of eleven bears, some of them reaching two meters, others one meter of height, in bright colors that will be on display until September.
