Iborra family arrived in Barcelona from Alicante with the intention of getting on a boat in their way to Argentina, where they had decided to start a new life. While waiting for that boat Joan Pere Iborra prepared horchatas with the chufla from his hometown. Nobody knew then that a legend was borning.
It was with a valencian expression “Che, try this” that everything started. Without a doubt, it is problably the best horchata in Barcelona and it has over 100 years of history.

Currently, the great-grandchildren of Joan continue with the business. First, it was in the Born, Barceloneta and then in Poblenou where they settle, in 1933, the emblematic El Tio Che.
Located in the same Rambla del Poblenou it has become the meeting place of women, men, grandparents and children. Neighbors of a lifetime to tourists who want to cool off after a day at the beach, everybody wants to meet at Tio Che.
