Elegant, cosy, warm… this year, for the first time, we will be able to celebrate Christmas on a terrace: La Terraza del Claris. This is one of the best options in Barcelona for celebrating special occasions in an intimate atmosphere. A pioneering initiative in Barcelona that proves that the holiday season is perfectly compatible with good taste and haute cuisine.

La Terraza del Claris has just launched its winter season. Completely covered and heated, its large windows maintain the view and spring atmosphere throughout the year, while preserving the personality of the terrace. At Christmas, the kitchen produces its best culinary creations, combined with the traditional dishes that you have to have on a day like this, in addition to live music and a chill-out area.

On Christmas Day, you can choose to celebrate Christmas at La Terraza del Claris or, for group reservations, in the private East Garden room, or in the hotel restaurant, East 47. There is a different menu in all three places: a succulent feast awaits you, starting with a glass of rosé champagne, smoked salmon, oysters and marinated shrimp; to follow, there is traditional Christmas Broth with galets (pasta), foie gras and carn d’olla (meat used to make the broth). Diners will also enjoy monkfish with sweet potatoes and black chanterelle mushrooms or truffled poularde with potato and chestnut ragout. Dessert consists of a little glass of pineapple with yoghurt and a very innovative re-take on the Yule log, with Christmas nougat and petit fours to finish.

Let us not forget that Hotel Claris has a collection of more than 400 pieces of Egyptian art on display throughout the hotel. New Year’s Eve dinner is an excellent opportunity to discover them. On December 31, the party kicks off with a glass of Pommery Rosée champagne at 8.30 pm in La Terraza del Claris. With the guests surrounded by works of art, the gala dinner is served afterwards in the hotel’s Museum-Hall and in the East 47 restaurant. The party ends once again on the terrace with drinks and music at 2.00 am in the morning.

For the New Year’s Eve gala dinner, the Claris provides a tasting menu featuring seafood, truffles and champagne: Coca flat bread topped with porcini mushrooms and black truffle, foie gras and pear bonbon, scallop brochette, poached egg with creamy white truffle and shrimp and apple salad to start with. And for the main course, there is sea bass with tender vegetables and creamy herbs, and crispy suckling pig with quince jelly and citrus fruit salad. The final touch is provided by a little glass of soft fruit and rum baba with vanilla cream and ice cream. And of course, there will be the traditional lucky grapes and nougat.

Company dinners

Hotel Claris’ function rooms, the East 47 restaurant, and the private room on the terrace, East Garden, are available for company reservations. Different menus have been designed for these meetings, and the atmosphere is elegant and quiet, ideal for celebrating the holiday season.
