Derby Hotels Collection moves toward de-escalation. The Hotel Balmes reopens its doors in Barcelona

The Clos family offers a 4-star option for growing tourism looking for an oasis in the heart of the city.

Derby Hotels Collection confirms the reopening of the Hotel Balmes 4* & Balmes Residence in Barcelona this June. Almost a year after the reopening of its flagship, the Hotel Claris and Spa, the Clos family is committed to providing a counterpoint to its option of luxury accommodation and responds to quality tourism that grows every day and demands a more accessible price.

“The Business traveler is reactivated and at the same time we also notice an increase in the booking for holidays and summer breaks, both for local guests or form France and Germany” – say Joaquim Clos, General Manager at Derby Hotels Collection. The group offers with the Hotel Balmes a stay in the heart of the city and a wooded garden with a swimming pool on which its 111 rooms and apartments is focused.

The Hotel Balmes registers around 20% occupancy upon its reopening, after 14 months of closure. The forecast is to reach 70% in summer peak. “In all probably we will be subject to last minute reservations, although the desire to travel is clear among our potential audience” – explains Joaquim Clos -  “we will continue to be very aware of vaccination and consequent recovery of international mobility”, he concludes.

The reopening of the Hotel Balmes and Balmes Residences involves the reincorporation of 60% of the staff and the reactivation of multipurpose spaces such as the terraces, the swimming pool, the small gym and sauna in the garden, the museum and the B-Bar.

This reopening is in addition to the reactivation of the Hotel The Caesar in London, last May, and the two flagships The Hotel Claris and Spa in Barcelona and the Hotel Urban in Madrid.
