Over 400 concerts this summer, welcome to San Miguel Mas i Mas Festival! This year is its 11th edition with more performances than ever. His goal, ten years later, is still to provide “musical offer top quality all styles and genres” to the city of Barcelona, as the festival programmer, Pere Pons, has told us.
The summer annual event will bring together performances in small and large format that will range from classical music, jazz and flamenco to funk, blues and techno. Barcelona will be having lots of different styles concerts that will surprise everyone.

Mas i Mas is culture
To Pere Pons, the festival is a music tool that is not considered “mere entertainment” but “cultural heritage”. Are examples of this culture Brad Mehlday, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Nina Hagen, Roy Haynes and Benny Golson performances. A long history of artists that reaffirms nowadays the importance of this festival.
From July 26th until August 31st we will find concerts in different venues in Barcelona. For jazz lovers, your destination is the historic club Jamboree, where they will meet top row jazzmen as Pedro Iturralde and Lou Donaldson. The Tablao Tarantos will be meeting flamenco with Aroma Flamenco and for those who like rhythm, Moog will have a list of hypnotic dj’s for everyone. In Palau de la Música Catalana you will enjoy tango music, singer-songwriter and gospel. And this year, for the firt time, Sala Apolo will join the festival with concerts of great power.

With more than 3,000 performances behind Mas i Mas Festival is a safe proposal for this summer. As its programmer has told us “have been 10 years of constant growth and evolution”, in which the festival has managed to outdo each edition. And we are confident that this won’t be the exception!
