The Balmes Hotel exhibits a collection of more than 200 pieces of African art, acquired at international auctions and during expeditions undertaken by Jordi Clos himself in the 1970s. 

This African collection, which is displayed in public areas, the hotel’s Exhibition Room and guest rooms, is a broad representation of the diversity of African ethnography. It features pieces from cultures of the likes of the Dogon, Ashanti, Baulé, Nok, Kuoro, Fang, Tuareg, Yoruba, Luba, Senufo, Bobo and Karinga, among others. The variety of the pieces offers a wide range of materials, carved woods, stuccoes, skins, shells, bronzes and amulets.
