Derby Hotels Collection expands again with its Grand Luxury Hotels in Barcelona and Madrid
The group, chaired by Jordi Clos and managed by Joaquim Clos, anticipates a turnover of more than 90 million, representing an increase of around 3%, consolidating customers and overnight stays while recovering prices and continuing with investments in its flagship establishments.

Within the framework of FITUR 2026, Jordi Clos, Chairman of Derby Hotels Collection and Joaquim Clos, CEO, have announced revenue forecasts of over €90 million in 2025, representing an increase of around 3%, consolidating its positioning in the urban luxury segment.
Derby Hotels Collection has managed to return to growth, prioritizing exclusivity in unique spaces and prime locations, and focusing on culture and gastronomy as hallmarks of a distinctive hotel model.
In 2026, the group presents a renovated Villa Real, progresses in the final phase of the renovation of The Caesar, in London, with a cumulative investment of close to €20 million, and prepares a progressive upgrade of Claris Hotel & Spa and Suites Avenue LUXE Apartments in Barcelona, focused on improving rooms and spaces to further enhance the guest experience.
Likewise, Derby Hotels Collection’s art collection exceeds 5,000 pieces displayed across its establishments, accessible to both guests and local visitors, reinforcing the concept of hotel-museums that defines the group.
In addition, in 2025 the group consolidated the Barcelona Apartment brand, with an average occupancy exceeding 80%, following the incorporation of the Europa building, strengthening its position in the corporate and MICE market thanks to its location in the Fira de Barcelona area.
Sustained growth and consolidation of international tourism
During 2025, Derby Hotels Collection maintained an average occupancy of 75% in its hotels in Barcelona, Madrid and London, with a total of 599,313 guests and 313,667 rooms sold, consolidating its customer base and positioning in strategic markets.
According to data presented at Fitur, the United States consolidates its position as the leading market, representing 26% of total guests, with a 22% increase compared to 2024. Spain and the United Kingdom remain key markets, both growing by 10%, while Asian markets stand out, with 22% growth in China and 18% in Japan. Major European markets —France, Germany and Italy— remain in the top 10 source markets, maintaining stable figures.
Gastronomy as experience and connection with the city
Gastronomy continues to be one of the group’s key differentiating factors. In Madrid, CEBO, Michelin-starred, consolidates its fine dining proposal based on product and simplicity; while in Barcelona, Os-kuro, at the Claris Hotel & Spa, strengthens its position as a benchmark for contemporary Japanese cuisine, with a focus on crafting top-quality ramen.
The Claris Terrace continues as a leisure space open to locals and visitors, with a gastronomic offering based on locally sourced products, high-quality ingredients and a relaxed experience in the heart of the city.
And the Glass Bar at Hotel Urban 5*GL, a benchmark cocktail bar in Madrid, features a carefully curated selection of signature cocktails and Michelin-starred bites created by CEBO’s chefs, Javier Sanz and Juan Sahuquillo.
A gastronomic and leisure proposal common to each of the group’s hotels, reflecting a vision of offering spaces that go beyond accommodation and become places connected to the city, capable of delivering experiences beyond the stay.
Hotel-museums: art as a hallmark
Among these experiences, art stands out as one of the pillars of Derby Hotels Collection’s DNA. During 2025, the group expanded its Papua New Guinea collection at Hotel Urban, reinforcing one of the most important private collections in Spain.
In total, the company houses more than 5,000 works of ancient and contemporary art across its establishments, consolidating its positioning as hotel-museums and contributing actively to cultural dissemination and the heritage value of the cities where it operates.
In this sense, Derby Hotels has created unique spaces that combine art, luxury and culture. In addition to the Papua New Guinea collection at Hotel Urban 5*GL, highlights include over 100 Roman mosaics from the 2nd to 6th centuries at Villa Real and Caesar hotels; the pre-Columbian art collection at Claris Hotel & Spa 5*GL; Art Nouveau glass vases at Hotel Baguès 5*, and a collection of more than 250 paintings and drawings by artist Ricard Opisso at Hotel Astoria 3*.
Ongoing investment across all hotels
The group begins 2026 with the renovated Villa Real. Additionally, the The Caesar project, in London, enters its second phase, including the refurbishment of rooms and common areas, with the aim of positioning the property as one of the leading boutique hotels in the Notting Hill area. Likewise, a progressive upgrade of the Claris Hotel & Spa, in Barcelona, will be carried out to further enhance the guest experience.
These investments are part of a long-term strategy based on product improvement, preservation of architectural heritage and adaptation to an increasingly demanding customer seeking complete and personalized experiences.
Sustainability: a cross-cutting transformation of the hotel model
At the same time, Derby Hotels Collection is advancing in the development of its IN DERBY HOTELS WE TRUST program, which structures its commitment to sustainability.
During 2025, the group consolidated its Sustainability Management System, which measures nine key performance areas through a system of indicators and translates into an Action Plan with objectives and actions involving all operational and management areas.
Key focus areas include energy efficiency, waste reduction, responsible water management, staff training, and collaboration with local suppliers and cultural projects.
In 2026, the company plans to progress in obtaining prestigious international certifications aligned with global standards, validating this management system and implemented practices, and integrating sustainability as a structural pillar of its business model.
